Man Arrested For Sexual Assault On Jogger In Nashua, NH

NASHUA, NH (CBS) - Nashua police have arrested a man for sexually assaulting a woman while she was out on a Friday morning jog.

At around 5 a.m., the 33-year-old woman was out running in Mine Falls Park near Marie Avenue, a popular jogging route, when 22-year-old Stefan Wollmar attacked her, according to police.

"She reported that she was assaulted, brought to the ground, and sexually assaulted and after the assault took place, she was able to flee, ran home, and called police," said Deputy Chief John Seusing.

Wollmar, who was visiting friends in Nashua from his home in Laconia, was taken into custody only a few miles away from the scene Friday evening. Before the assault, Wollmar had allegedly been hiding in some bushes.

A couple hours after the attack, Dep. Chief John Seusing said police got a tip a couple miles from the crime scene.

"We did get a phone call from someone reporting that they had seen someone that in their opinion, based on the location, was acting a little suspicious, which prompted our response," said Dep. Chief Seusing.

Wollmar is being held on $100,000 cash bail. He will face a sexual assault charge on Monday in Nashua District court.

The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
