FOXBORO (CBS) – The New England Patriots have placed Mike Wright on the injured reserve, ending the defensive lineman’s 2011 season.
Wright played in the season opener at Miami, registering one tackle and a half a sack, but has been inactive for the last four games with concussion symptoms.
Wright, who suffered the concussion during the season opener, also missed the second half of the 2010 season due to a concussion.
To take Wright’s roster spot, New England signed defensive back Phillip Adams has been signed to the 53-man roster. Adams was originally signed by the Patriots on September 21 and was active but did not play in the games at Buffalo or Oakland.
He was released on October 8, before being brought back on Thursday.
