Bruins Sign Rich Peverley To 3-Year Contract Extension

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Bruins announced on Monday they had signed forward Rich Peverley to a three-year contract extension.

Terms of the contract were not immediately made available. The signing locked up Peverley through the 2014-15 season.

His annual cap hit is reportedly $3.25 Million.

The Bruins acquired the 29-year-old Peverley along with Boris Valabik from the Atlanta Thrashers in a trade for Mark Stuart and Blake Wheeler back in February of last season.

Peverley played 23 regular season games with the Bruins last season, scoring four goals and three assists.

He added four goals and eight assists during the Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup championship run.

This season, Peverley has appeared in three games for the Bruins and leads the team in goals, scoring two thus far.
He has not missed a game over the last two-plus seasons.

Peverley's career high in goals and assists came during the 2009-10 season as a member of the Thrashers when he netted 22 goals and 33 assists for 55 points.
