BOSTON (AP) – Senator Scott Brown is urging Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to move quickly to bring some kind of jobs bill to the floor of the Senate for a vote.

The Massachusetts Republican said he spoke to Reid on the phone Friday morning and had what Brown called “a long talk about the lack of cooperation” between Democrats and Republicans in Congress.

Brown said he urged Reid, a Nevada Democrat, to pull out elements of President Barack Obama’s jobs bill that both sides can agree on and pass that as a start.

Brown said thornier issues like tax hikes and entitlement reform can be left to the 12-member supercommittee charged with tackling the nation’s fiscal problems.

Brown, who is gearing up for reelection next year, said he supports parts of Obama’s bill.
