Week 5 Fantasy Mailbag

BOSTON (CBS) – 98.5 The Sports Hub's Nick Cattles has you covered throughout the fantasy football season, and will be answering all your questions in weekly mailbag.

Jason: Any chance Dolphins pick up David Garrard with Chad Henne out or will they roll with Matt Moore and try to suck for Andrew Luck?

Hey Jason, as was reported earlier in the day on Thursday, the Dolphins have decided to sign Sage Rosenfels.  Last time we saw Rosenfels, or at least remember seeing him, was when he was turning the ball over 12 times and doing the "human helicopter" in Houston.  Rosenfels can throw some, but I think he's the backup.  Look for Moore to get the majority of the snaps.  I think the Dolphins will run more from this point on.

Joe:  What do you think happens between BJGE and Stevan Ridley as far as playing time?

Joe, tough call here.  As is the case with the Patriots, Saints and Packers you never know!  These offenses are explosive and love spreading the ball around.  This might seem like I'm on the fence, but I honestly believe that Ridley and the Law Firm will come close to a 50/50 share, while Danny Woodhead's out.  When Woodhead comes back, your guess is as good as mine.

Bill:  Jonathan Stewart or Stevan Ridley as a flex? Spot start WR-MikeThomas or Dexter McCluster?

We continue the "Ridley Fever" in the mailbag this week…The Saints rushing defense is pretty good, but that's mostly because their opponents are caught in a shootout.  Ridley, meanwhile faces a Jets Defense that is giving up over 130 yards per game on the ground.  If I was a betting man (and sometimes I am), I'd roll with Ridley.  As for your spot start, I'd actually gamble on McCluster.  That Cincinnati Defense is  playing really well and I wouldn't trust Blaine Gabbert just yet.

Daniel:  I'm about to make a blockbuster do I go after Arian Foster or Steven Jackson?

Hands down you take the risk that Foster is finally 100% healthy.  He's a beast, as we saw last week, and isn't listed on the injury report for Week 5. Houston's offense is also much better than the Rams, as St. Louis tries to find an identity under new coordinator, and old friend, Josh McDaniels.

Adam: Mark Ingram or D Nelson in flex this week?

Tough call…the inconsistent but explosive wideout or the rookie running back who gets touches, but hasn't done a ton with them yet?  I know it's tough, but I'd start Mark Ingram this week. Carolina's run defense is horrible and I think it's about time Ingram gets going.  Even if he doesn't run for 100-125 yards, I'm betting he gets at least a touchdown and 60 yards.  Nelson just isn't consistent enough to play over a 15-20 touch RB.
