Tributes For Steve Jobs Outside Boston's Apple Store

BOSTON (CBS) - One study finds there are more Apple Stores per square foot in Massachusetts than any other state in the union, including California.

As a result, our community's connection to Apple products runs deep, and after word got out about former company CEO Steve Jobs' death, Apple fans gathered to pay tribute.

Flowers, candles and apples formed a memorial outside the Boylston Street Apple Store to remember Jobs. In a fitting tribute, people stopped by the store to snap a picture, using the very devices he helped invent.

WBZ-TV's Sera Congi reports.

"What hasn't he done, the way we communicate nowadays, I'm well connected everyday," said Kirby Chin.

Dave Buklarewitz of Boston believes Jobs' legacy is the impact on education.

"I have three boys under the age of ten and to what they've learned, using my Macbook has been tremendous," said Buklarewitz.

Jobs' influence is seen everywhere, with trademark white cords dangling from the countless users who now wonder what's ahead in a world without him.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Mark Katic reports.
