It’ll be a historic night at the Garden on Thursday as the Bruins raise the championship banner to the rafters before their home opener.

Adam Proteau from Hockey News spoke with Toucher & Rich about improvements of teams in the Eastern Conference, Sean Avery and this Bruins team.

Many teams in the Eastern Conference have made some improvements to their teams and one that has made some substantial moves to get better is Buffalo. New ownership has taken over the Sabres and has made it known that money will be spent on this team to acquire depth and talent.

They moved on to discuss Sean Avery being released by the New York Rangers. Avery will clear waivers today and his agent said he’ll go play overseas. Does Proteau see any NHL team taking a chance and signing Avery?

The guys then moved on to discuss the Bruins and the fact that they have lost some pieces, but have also added some this offseason. Will the addition of Joe Corvo help the Bruins with their power play that was almost none existent last season?

All this and so much more with Adam Proteau.
