Missing Elderly Woman From Brookline Found Safe

BROOKLINE (CBS) - A missing elderly woman from Brookline was found safe Sunday morning.

Anna Burdenko was found in the area of Center Street in West Roxbury around 8:30 a.m., just about 24 hours after the 83 year old went missing.

"She had been missing since about 8:30 yesterday morning," said Lt. Phil Harrington of the Brookline Police Department. "She was reported missing by her daughter."

Brookline police Lt. Phil Harrington said Burdenko suffers from Alzheimer's disease, and he's glad she was found safe.

"We wanna thank the Boston police for making this a safe and happy ending," said Lt. Harrington.

Police aren't sure how Burdenko got to West Roxbury, which is about four miles from where she lives. She was checked at a local hospital as a precaution.
