1000s Participate In Walks To End Alzheimer’s Disease

BOSTON (CBS) – Thousands came out today to raise money and awareness to fight a disease as difficult for its patients as it is for their families.

Cambridge hosted one of eight Massachusetts walks to end Alzheimer’s disease.

The event funds research and critical support programs.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Kim Tunnicliffe reports.

The state’s First Family participated in the walk. Diane Patrick’s mom died of Alzheimer’s.

More than 32,000 teams participated in the Alzheimer’s walks around the country.

Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in America.
