Bruins Chara Suiting Up Friday Night

BOSTON (CBS) --The Boston Bruins return to the Garden ice Friday night, but no banner will be raised.

Not yet.

The Bruins host the New York Islanders in their first game at the Garden since winning the Stanley Cup. The Preseason matchup won't have the fanfare, or banner raising, the October 6th regular season opener will, but the stars expect to see some action.

Bruins captain Zdeno Chara and Tim Thomas are among the players scheduled to dress for the home preseason opener, with David Krejci and Milan Lucic expected to see time on the ice.

Chara did not participate in the B's preseason loss to the Senators after taking a puck off the inside of his left leg at practice on Monday. Other defensemen expected to dress on Friday include Dennis Seidenberg and Johnny Boychuk.

Forwards Brad Marchand, Daniel Paille, Rich Peverley and Benoit Pouliot are also expected to play for Boston.
