Quincy Center Being Rebuilt, At A Cost Of Nearly $2 Billion

BOSTON (CBS) - The first street improvements in Quincy Center will be finished next month, as a massive $1.6 billion urban renewal project begins.

National Realty and Development Corporation of New York is overseeing the Quincy project with Street Works.

The head of NRDC, Robert Baker, believes the Quincy redevelopment is one of the most important projects in North America.

Ken Narva of Street Works tells WBZ that local and national partners are providing equity and debt, because no one financial firm can finance a billion dollars worth of construction.
