Logan Airport Installs 164 New Defibrillators

BOSTON (CBS) - Logan Airport has installed state of the art defibrillators around the airport, making it easier for people to help someone whose heart has stopped.

The new defibrillators were developed by Zoll Medical out of Chelmsford.

They can not only provide a life-saving jolt, but they provide audio and visual assistance to help people provide CPR and even let someone know whether an electric shock is needed.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Mark Katic reports.

"They offer more with written instructions, verbal instructions, and visual instructions. I believe that this is the only airport that has these at this time," said Massport spokesman Phil Orlandella.

There are 164 new ones scattered "strategically" around the airport.
