BC's Luke Keuchly Named ACC Linebacker, Impact Player of the Week

BOSTON (CBS) - While the BC Eagles have yet to win a game, linebacker Luke Kuechly continues to shine.

Kuechly was named the Lott Impact Player of the Week and ACC linebacker of the week after his 23 tackle performance in BC's 20-19 loss to the Duke Blue Devils.

The 23 tackles marked a career high and tied Stephen Boyd for second in school history for a single-game. It ties the fourth most tackles in a BC game, with three players recording 25.

Saturday was the third time of Kuechly's career he finished with 20 or more tackles. He now has 399 career tackles and is positioned to become just the fifth Eagle, and 32nd ACC player, to ever record 400 career tackles.

Kuechly was a unanimous All-America first-team selection after leading the nation in tackles (183) and solo tackles (110) as a sophomore in 2010. It is the second time this season he has been named ACC Linebacker of the Week and the ninth time of his BC career.

Boston College (0-3) returns to action on Saturday, September 24 against Massachusetts at Chestnut Hill.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
