BOSTON (CBS) – Sunday’s game will tell us what this week will be like for the Boston Red Sox.
If Tim Wakefield and his teammates can find a way to beat David Price, then the Sox will be able to breathe. If not, this could make for some anxious nights.
The Sox would be up by 4 games with 10 to play. With a loss today, it’s down to two.
I guess this is the time when you dig deep as not only a player, but as a fan.
The Sox, as Jon Lester pointed out after Saturday’s loss, have played good tough baseball the past three games. The question is, what took so long?
I know starting pitching has been the biggest problem and to me that’s where it all centers around right now. But, the Sox play prior to this series vs Tampa was almost unwatchable. Not even close to good baseball. And, it’s a shame because that may cost them a shot at postseason play.
Lastly, if you are going to any of the final Sox home games this week, have a blast. Don’t let the negativity get to you. This team, not any team from last year or any previous seasons, this team needs you. Make it fun.
And…enjoy the ride.
