SALEM, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire State Police say two people have died in a crash off of Interstate 93 in Salem.
Troopers have identified the driver as 29-year-old Michael Joyce of Stoneham, Mass., and a passenger as 23-year-old Karina O’Donnell of Merrimac, Mass.
Investigators say their pickup truck was traveling north on I-93 on Friday night. The truck drove through the beginning portion of the off-ramp to the Salem rest area and into the woods. The truck then struck a large tree before coming to rest at a small body of water.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, but it appears speed may be a factor.
