Patriots Blog: Both Sides Of Bruschi vs Ochocinco

BOSTON (CBS) - Not sure why one little tweet got so big and had a week shelf life. But if I had to stick up for Chad Ochocinco, I would say it's clear: Tedy Bruschi does not like you.

It all started when Ocho tweeted this Tuesday afternoon, following the Patriots 38-24 win over the Dolphins:

"Just waking up after a late arrival, I've never seen a machine operate like that n person, to see video game numbers put up n person was WOW."

It led to Bruschi to voice his displeasure about Ocho, telling him to get his head in the playbook rather than tweeting.

The tweet was just the jump off point. Bruschi's feelings for the type of person that Chad is came through in his rants.  Many players have been in awe of the people they have played with.  Many on the New York Giants were in awe in of Lawrence Taylor and they told people.  Many of the 49ers were in awe of Jerry Rice and Joe Montana and they told people.  Many on the Dallas Cowboys were in awe Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin and they told people.  Teammates were in awe of "mean Joe Greene" and John Elway and Peyton Manning.  They have all told people.

Chad tweeted because he has not talked to the media that much, and that's something he said he was going to do in training camp.  I thought it was harmless.

But it turned out the tweet had a life of it's own.

As for sticking up for Tedy, maybe the time of the tweet set him off.  It was around 3pm when the tweet came through and the first line dealt with Chad just waking up.  Well, after a one catch night where the Pats offensive numbers were off the charts, Tedy is right.  Chad should have been in the film room, trying to figure out how he could contribute to the team more.  The Patriots are a different animal.  It's not about how you won, it's focusing on the mistakes in a win, to make you better.

Chad should have been in the film room, instead he was still too busy enjoying the view.

Those are both sides of the coin.  Hopefully this week, the Pats and Chad will be on the same page and this will be a foot note in the season.
