Nightclub Fire Joke To Be Deleted From Sheen Roast

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Comedy Central says it plans to delete a joke about victims of a Rhode Island nightclub fire that killed 100 people from the upcoming broadcast of a roast of Charlie Sheen.

Network spokeswoman Aileen Budow says the joke delivered by Jackass comedian Steve-O will be omitted from the final edit of the "Roast of Charlie Sheen" airing on Sept. 19. The comedian's real name is Stephen Glover.

The joke refers to the 100 people who died in The Station nightclub fire in West Warwick in 2003 as "nobodies."

Rhode Island comedian David Kane, whose son 18-year-old Nicholas O'Neill died in the fire, says he was insulted by the remark.

Kane says he asked the joke be pulled from the broadcast.
