BOSTON (CBS) – Boston College junior Luke Kuechly was named the ACC’s linebacker of the week for his 18-tackle performance against Northwestern on Saturday.
The linebacker led the nation in tackles last season, and got off to another great start with his 23rd straight game with 10 or more tackles. Kuechly also picked off Northwestern quarterback Kain Colter in the second quarter of BC’s 24-17 loss, setting up the Eagles’ first touchdown of the season. It was his fifth interception in 27 career games.
As a sophomore, Kuechly was a unanimous All-American first-team selection, leading the country with 183 tackles (110 solo).
This is the eighth time he has earned conference honors over his career at BC.
The Eagles are back in action Saturday, September 10 when they travel to Orlando to take on UCF.
