36,000 folks took a one-day ride and if it keeps going like this, they'll hit the 100,000 mark before the end of October.
It took similar programs in Denver and Minneapolis six months and longer to reach 100,000.
"If you go down Washington Street in the South End, you'll see one. In the North End, you'll see one. In Dudley Square. They're all over our city. It's about the availability of the bikes. It's also good for our environment," Mayor Tom Menino told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Monday.
