FOXBORO (CBS) – The Patriots have agreed to terms with former Pro Bowler Brian Waters to bolster a thin offensive line, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Waters, a right guard, spent the first 11 years of his career with the Chiefs and was named to five Pro Bowls. He’s also a two-time First-Team All-Pro.
He was named the Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2009.
The signing of Waters helps improve a Pats offensive line ravaged by injuries. Starting right guard Dan Connolly hurt his ankle in the third preseason game against the Lions, while backups Rich Ohrnberger (injured reserve) and Marcus Cannon (reserve/non-football list) are also out.
