Mass. Organization Launches Online Health Guide

BOSTON (AP) -- Public health advocates have crafted new web guides aimed at helping people learn more and live healthier.

The Massachusetts Health Council has posted newly compiled guides online that provide links to hospitals, support groups, treatment centers and information on specific diseases and conditions.

The organization says the compilation will help people find reliable information without scouring various online sources. They hope the easily accessible information will promote healthy living and prevent illness by keeping people informed.

Another guide is designed to help businesses host health fairs or develop wellness programs for employees, such as cholesterol screenings, office sports teams, or first aid training.

The Massachusetts Health Council is a non-profit organization comprising state and local health departments, advocacy groups and professional societies.
