HUDSON, NH (CBS) – A steel beam from the World Trade Center has arrived in Hudson, New Hampshire to be part of a special 9-11 memorial at Benson Park.

The nine-ton beam is from an elevator shaft on the 21st floor of the North Tower.

It was given to the town because Hudson resident David Kovalcin was aboard one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center.

The memorial will be formally dedicated on the tenth anniversary of the attacks.

  1. Chris says:

On air reporting should be more accurate. Sunday a.m. (9/4/) it has been reported on more than one occasion that the steel beam from the World Trade Center has been erected in a memorial park in Hudson. It should be noted that the location is Benson Park — in HUDSON NH. No mention of New Hampshire is made during broadcasts up to this moment by your female reporter.
This is of significance, and should be CORRECTED! Thank you.
