Norwell Selectman Frustrated With National Grid's Response

NORWELL (CBS) - It was not quite business as usual in Norwell Monday. The Town Hall lost power, just like many homes.

There was just one phone line working and that line has been ringing off the hook, according to Town Clerk Pat Anderson.

Downstairs, Linda Murphy at the Highway Department has also been fielding a lot of calls about tree removals.

She says the town is doing the best they can, but can not touch any trees within 10 feet of a wire. Murphy suggests people call National Grid.

John Mariano, the Chairman of the Bord of Selectmen says he is frustrated with the response from the utility company.

"We feel very betrayed that what we were told was going to happen, has not happened," says Mariano. "I'd like to see trucks in Norwell fixing things."

Mariano says he had only seen one truck.
