Hurricane Irene: Travel Plans Affected

BOSTON (CBS) – Hurricane Irene is causing all kinds of headaches for travelers this weekend.

At Logan Airport flights were still on time Friday, but that is expected to change Saturday and Sunday.

Most major airlines announced travel waivers for cities affected by the storm, including Boston.

Amtrak is reducing service on Saturday, and has canceled all service in the northeast on Sunday.

The Norwegian Dawn headed off to Bermuda Friday.

WBZ spoke with one nervous family on the boat.

"We are just going to barrel right through it," says Peggy. "I'm prepared it should be a very good trip."

The Steamship Authority is anticipating that its ferry service for the Islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket will be temporarily suspended on Sunday as Hurricane Irene passes through New England.
