Passenger With Measles Boards Boston-Virginia Amtrak Train

BOSTON (CBS) - Health officials are warning passengers who took an Amtrak train from Boston to Virginia last week that they may have been exposed to a person with measles.

Northeast Regional train #171 departed Boston last Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. and made stops in New York City, Philadelphia, Maryland, and Washington D.C., until it reached its destination in Lynchburg, Virginia around 12 hours later.

The sick passenger got on the train in Philadelphia, so anyone who got off the train before that stop is not in any danger.

For the rest of the passengers, especially those who have not received the MMR vaccine, symptoms of measles can develop as late as Sept. 7.
