BOSTON (CBS) – Monday is deadline day for those affected by the tornadoes in central and western Massachusetts on June 1.

More than 4,700 people have registered for federal disaster assistance and the last day to apply is August 22.

Those who haven’t applied from Hampden and Worcester Counties, but were impacted by the storms are encouraged to apply, even if you are not sure if you’re eligible.

For more information call FEMA’s toll-free helpline at 800-621-FEMA (3362). People who are deaf or hard of hearing can call (TTY) 800-462-7585.

Lines are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

You can also sign up on line at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or through a smartphone or tablet at m.fema.gov.
