Two Brothers Seriously Injured In Storrow Drive Crash

BOSTON (CBS) – Two brothers from North Andover are being treated for serious injuries after a fiery crash Sunday morning.

State Police troopers responded to the area of Storrow Drive eastbound near the off-ramp to Kenmore Square where an Infinity had crashed into a tree and was engulfed in flames on the median.

Troopers attempted to remove the occupants, a 27-year-old man and his 29-year-old brother, but were unable to do so. The Boston Fire Department responded and put the fire out. Both men were removed using the Jaws of Life.

They were transported to the hospital in critical condition and suffering from burn and trauma injuries. Medical personnel tell the DA’s office that their conditions have stabilized.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817.

I’m not making any judgement on what happened but anyone who uses Storrow Drive is well aware that the speed limit is 40mph. You would also know that the majority of vehicles drive well in excess of 40 with many doing 60 all of the time. The exit may be a bit “tricky” but not so if you keep your eyes on the road and are driving at the posted speed. This is a tragedy for the family and I hope things work out. Only time will tell what happened and whose at fault.
