MANCHESTER (CBS) – In New Hampshire Sunday, it was a homecoming nearly one year in the making.

More than 100 members of the New Hampshire National Guard returned from overseas reuniting families after months of worry.

They were the last of 700 Guard troops to return to the Granite State.

WBZ-TV’s Ken MacLeod reports

The Guardsmen were deployed in Kuwait as part of the 197th Fires Brigade, conducting operations in high risk areas of Iraq.

This was the second wave of the 197th to come home this week.

The good news is they suffered no casualties.

First Thank you to all of the 197th for making sure we have a safe place to sleep every night. Without all of you, we would not live in a safe place. Thank you to the famlies for the sacrafice we all have to go through as well. Second WBZ this story is inaccaurate, the last of this unit has not arrived home. There are several more that have only landed in the states yesterday, they will arrive home to their famlies next weekend. Please apolgoize to their families for forgetting their loved ones.
