PCB Discovery May Disrupt Elementary School Opening In Jamaica Plain

BOSTON (CBS) -  A potential change of venue for  hundreds of children who attend the Hennigan Elementary School in Jamaica Plain.

An inspection of the building has turned up small traces of  the carcinogen PCB in some of the interior paint.

Authorities are trying to figure out how to remove any flaking paint.

The nearby Agassiz School, which was shut down in June, may be used as a backup.

Parents have been notified of the situation.

School begins for the new year on September 8th.
