BOSTON (CBS) – The First Family is once again enjoying a vacation on Martha’s Vineyard, as they have the past three years.

Republicans have criticized President Obama for taking a vacation, citing the volatile stock market and fears of a global recession.

The White House responded by saying every vacation the president takes is a “working” vacation, because the responsibilities of the job follow him wherever he travels.

There’s also evidence that Mister Obama has not taken as much time off as his critics think, according to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, who posted his research on Twitter.

The White House says this is President Obama’s first full vacation of the year.

He is scheduled to stay on the Vineyard through August 27th.
