Cannons Bill Daye Named MLL Head Coach of the Year

BOSTON (CBS) - After leading the Boston Cannons to a 9-3 regular season record, head coach Bill Daye has been named the 2011 MLL Coach of the Year.

Daye, in his sixth season as the Cannons' head coach, led Boston to its second straight MLL regular season title. Boston opened the season with a 6-1 record, including a five-game win streak. The Cannons will make their fourth postseason appearance in the last six years when the playoffs get underway August 27.

The nine wins for the Cannons this year are the most by a Boston team during the last six years.
