Toucher & Rich: Andy Hart On Problems At Safety For The Patriots?

It seemed that the Patriots were not happy with what they were seeing at their safety position when they brought in Darren Sharper and Renaldo Hill for visits/workouts.

Toucher & Rich spoke with Andy Hart of Patriots Football Weekly about the safety position, Bill Belichick's feelings on the new kickoff rule and the new replay rule.

The guys discussed comments Belichick made about the new kickoff rule, which now has teams kicking off from the 35-yard line. How does this new rule affect the game, kick returners and players like Brandon Tate?

They also touched on the topic of replays and how questionable scoring plays will be automatically reviewed. Will this affect the play of the game?

The guys then turned their attention to the safeties. Reports out of training camp said that Brandon Meriweather was not looking good at his position and the Patriots brought in Darren Sharper and Renaldo Hill for visits/workouts. It's clear that Patrick Chung has locked up his spot at safety, who has the lead for the spot next to Chung?

"I still think the guy should be James Sanders, but the problem is he hasn't been on the football field. I think he's the surest guy. I think Chung is a play-maker. I think he's a budding, athletic, aggressive play-maker and the perfect guy to put next to him, in my opinion, is the steady, calming sense on the defense and that's Sanders," said Hart.

That and much more with Andy Hart of Patriots Football Weekly.
