DANVERS (CBS) – It was supposed to be a nice sendoff for the bride and groom, but a wedding reception ended with a brawl in the parking lot.

Shawn and Lindsey Pappas of Amesbury wound up being led off in handcuffs, following a fight in the parking lot of the Danversport Yacht Club Saturday night.

Danvers Police Sgt. Robert Bettancourt said wedding guests were in the parking lot when things got out of hand.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Doug Cope reports.

“Upon arrival, officers observed a group gathering being a little boisterous. It was determined through our investigation that a car had sped in and almost struck two people that were attending the wedding. They got quite upset over that,” said Sgt. Bettancourt.

Sgt. Bettancort said the situation then got out of control.

Shawn and Lindsey were arraigned on disorderly conduct charges. Shawn was also charged with resisting arrest, while Lindsey was charged with interfering with police.
