Lynn Shell Station Gives Away Free Gas
LYNN (CBS) – Free gas!
Those two words grabbed the attention of several drivers in Lynn Thursday morning.

And the word spread fast.
The Shell station on the Lynnway gave away free regular gasoline to anyone who wanted it for just over an hour as part of a gas rewards promotion with Stop and Shop.

It started at 7:30 a.m. and was scheduled to last 90 minutes, but the demand was so high, traffic backed up and state police had to end it about 30 minutes early.

For drivers who were lucky enough to get in, there was a 15-gallon limit.
Some ended up with more than $50 of free gasoline.
Nearly 400 people were able to get the deal before the police shut it down.
