No Bail For Man Accused Of Throwing Baby To Ground

BOSTON (CBS) - A Melrose man charged with throwing his baby onto a sidewalk is being held without bail.

A judge Thursday ordered Carlos Edwards to remain behind bars.

He's accused of grabbing his baby Carmelo Sears from the baby's mother Crystle Sears, when she wouldn't give him money.

Witnesses testified he threw the baby forcefully, and didn't attempt to help the baby on the ground.

Because of that, the judge deemed him dangerous.

Family members say the baby is recovering miraculously.

Edwards is due back in court, September 18th.
