LINCOLN (CBS) – Two cars were involved in an accident with a bus filled with kids on Route 2 in Lincoln on Thursday, leaving 15 people hospitalized.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash at around 3:45 p.m. State police officials said a pickup truck changing lanes on Route 2 hit an SUV, pushing the SUV into a white school bus, which then struck a car.

The bus was carrying two adults and 10 kids from a day camp at the Fens school. All 12 bus passengers were taken to Emerson Hospital as a precaution. The kids have all been picked up by their parents and released.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, but is facing several motor vehicle charges.

Three occupants of the SUV received minor injuries, while one girl suffered a serious leg injury. The driver in the car was not hurt.

In all, 15 people were hospitalized, according to Lincoln Police.

All lanes through that area were opened after 5 p.m.
