Woman, Boyfriend Shot Dead In Hyde Park Home

BOSTON (CBS) - Two people were shot dead at a home in Hyde Park early Tuesday morning.

A woman, 24-year-old Billie Marie Kee, and her boyfriend were shot and killed in a first-floor apartment on Hyde Park Avenue shortly after midnight.

A 4-year-old boy was removed from the home, but was not physically hurt. He was sleeping in another room during the shooting.

"My grandson, he's OK. I don't believe he saw what went on in the apartment," said William Kee, Billie Marie's father.

William Kee is a retired Boston police detective.

WBZ-TV's Diana Perez reports

"She was always a fighter. She was born prematurely 24 years ago in a Boston city hospital. I remember as I worked as a detective out of headquarters, I used to go there and rock her in her chair. I can't believe that 24 years later, it's the end of my daughter's life," said William Kee.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karen Twomey reports.

Kee said his daughter, who was once a Boston police cadet but later opted out of the program, was studying at Roxbury Community College. He said she never had any trouble, but added that he didn't know much about her boyfriend and whether he may have been targeted in the shooting.

Police said they are looking for several suspects seen running from the apartment. No arrests have been made.

Investigators said that there were no signs of forced entry and the incident did not appear to be random. They added that it appears to be a drug-related crime.

Anyone with information is asked to call Boston police.
