AMESBURY (CBS) – An Amesbury man is facing drug charges after officers found 25 marijuana plants growing in a secret room behind a closet in his home.

Michael Makiej was arrested over the weekend and charged with drug possession with intent to distribute.

Police say a tip from California authorities sent them to Makiej’s home.

They were told that a package containing two pounds of marijuana was being shipped to Makiej’s address.

Michael Makiej was arrested in Amesbury, accused of growing marijuana.

Officers got a warrant to seize the marijuana and to search Makiej’s home.

They found some small marijuana plants and a significant amount of growing materials in Makiej’s room.

Believing there was more marijuana in the house, officers continued their search and found a secret room behind a closet.

That secret room contained about 25 plants, large lights, temperatures gauges and a venting system.

Amesbury police called it one of the most elaborate marijuana-growing systems they’ve ever come across.

If you’re growing it, why would you risk having 2lbs shipped to you? But both above are right. Time and time again, we see stories regarding marijuana and the overwhelming majority of people have the same reaction. Who gives a …., just legalize it already.

I like not having to suck up to friends to pollute your mind or ( FOOL ) yourself and others your big .. if that’s being ” miserable ” or having ” chip ” i feel great i don’t have to go through life funding children’s deaths with drug deals gone bad , with having a drug life style .

Probably the best thing that could come out of this, if he were employed he made an opportunity for someone else worth hiring… if he had a job.

It costs 30-50,000 dollars a year to keep an inmate in prison. A child molester or rapist would probably get less time than this guy. If it was legalized and taxed, it would save tax payers money by not having hipppies put in jail, and they could make money off of taxing it and all of the many other uses hemp has. We could solve the deficit problem haha!!!
