Remembering ‘The Queen Of Giving’ Myra Kraft

By Steve Burton, WBZ-TV Sports Director

BOSTON (CBS) –The Sports world will certainly miss the “Queen of Giving.”

Myra Kraft has given so much to so many that it cannot be counted. She may have passed on, but her spirit lives on in the people she has touched.

And she touched the world; from traveling to Israel and helping the youth to giving to United Way, Brigham and Women’s hospital , Dana Farber and, of course, the Boys and Girls Club of Boston.

She was a second mother to the Patriots players, and the players certainly looked up to her. She was small in stature, but larger than life in love as a devoted wife and wonderful mother.

Born in Worcester, she never forgot her roots. And I’ll never forget her embrace. She was my friend and when she reached out, it was more than just a hug. She really cared.

My message to Mr. Kraft is simple: You haven’t lost your wife; Myra will live in you. Take her with you wherever you go. Our prayers are with you and your entire family.

Heaven has a new angel today.

God Bless.
