7-Year-Old Boy Dies Days After Shrewsbury Pool Incident

SHREWSBURY (CBS) - A 7-year-old boy who nearly drowned in an outdoor swimming pool at St. John's High School last week died Monday night.

Aaditya Basrur died at around 7:30 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, according to the Worcester County D.A.'s office.

Basrur nearly drowned in an incident last Thursday around 2 p.m. He was attending Camp Saint John, which is for kids age 5-12, and runs until the beginning of August.

The state's medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.

The incident remains under investigation.
