Man Splashes Acid At Holyoke Mom's Face

HOLYOKE (CBS) - A Holyoke mother was hospitalized with serious burns on Sunday after acid was thrown in her face.

Police said 35-year-old Julia Albizu was walking her dog when a man splashed her face with some sort of acid-based liquid.

She was blinded and burned, but Albizu's dog acted like a seeing-eye dog and led her home.

Albizu is now being treated at a Boston hospital, where doctors said she may lose her right eye.

Holyoke police said it is the second unprovoked acid attack in three months, but officers couldn't say if the same man is to blame for the attacks.

No one has been arrested.
