CONCORD (CBS) – A local golfer hit it big Saturday on a course in Concord.

Frank Lombardi, who is a member at Nashawtuc Country Club, sunk a hole in one on the seventeenth hole, in the final round of the Nashawtuc Men’s Invitational.

It was his first ace ever.

The reward for his hole in one was a 2011 BMW 7 Series. The car has a starting retail price of $70,000.

Herb Chambers BMW of Sudbury sponsored the giveaway.

Lombardi’s father was his partner for the member-guest event, and witnessed the remarkable shot.

There is some bad news, It’s unclear whether the IRS counts the car as a prize or a gift. Either way, the taxes on a comparable prize or gift can typically run anywhere between $10,000 and $30,000.

Why does the IRS have anything to do with what we win?
So one person makes out good. They are like vultures looking for a dead carcass.
Time for the IRS to start spending less and let the people get ahead. The government is broke and so are many people. Charity starts at home. He has a new car with no payments now he can provide more for his family that is a good thing. Back off IRS!
