Bruins Ink Defenseman McQuaid To 3-Year Extension

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Adam McQuaid to a three-year extension, General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced Thursday.

In his first full season in Boston, the 24-year-old McQuaid played in 67 games scoring three goals and tallying 12 assists. He finished first among NHL rookies with a +30, good for fifth overall in the league.

"Really, to be honest with you there was no hesitation at all," McQuaid said on a conference call. "It's where I want to be. It's where I want to be for a long time, and to be able to do something that could put me in that position was really a no-brainer for me."
