Beacon Hill Considers Bill To Protect Against Workplace Bullying
BEACON HILL (CBS) - Mass. lawmakers were set to discuss a bill on Thursday that focuses on bullying in the workplace.
The Massachusetts Healthy Workplace Advocates are pushing legislation that gives employees a legal avenue if they experience bullying on the job.

The group says about a million workers in Massachusetts are bullied -- either being intimidated by superiors or having their work sabotaged.
The bill not only gives workers a chance to fight legally but does give employers protections if they can show they took steps to stop or prevent bullying from taking place.
If Massachusetts decided to enact the legislation to protect workers from bullying on the job, they would become the first state in the nation to do so.
