NH AG: Teen Killed Dad's Girlfriend, Self In Weare Murder Suicide

WEARE, N.H. (AP) -- New Hampshire authorities say a teenager killed his father's girlfriend, broke into a nearby house and then returned home, where he killed himself.

The attorney general's office said Tuesday that 18-year-old Jacob Geiser died Sunday of a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Forty one-year-old Cheryl Maher was strangled, stabbed in the neck and hit on the head.

Authorities say Geiser killed Maher, then went to another Weare home, where he broke in and fired a shotgun at a resident.

Maher had been living with Geiser's father for about three months. She had been in the news last year, when Utah's House majority leader resigned after admitting he had paid her $150,000 to keep quiet about being naked in a hot tub with him when she was 15.
