Police Investigate Body Found After Attleboro Fire

ATTLEBORO (AP) -- The discovery of a body in an Attleboro rooming house after firefighters responded to a fire in the building is being treated as suspicious.

The Sun Chronicle reports that firefighters responding to the blaze just after 9 p.m. on Sunday found the body in bed in a third-floor room.

The commander of the city's detective division went to the scene to conduct interviews with residents of the building.

Representatives of the state police along with an investigator from the state fire marshal's office were also on scene.

Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Livesey says by the time firefighters arrived at the scene sprinklers had already extinguished the flames.

He says firefighters notified police when they found the body.
