CHATHAM (CBS) – Great white sharks have returned to the area off Cape Cod for the summer.

And on Friday, we got our first look at one of them near Chatham.

It was spotted in shallow water during an aerial survey by the Massachusetts Department of Marine Fisheries.

So far, no beaches have been closed.

But biologists say if you’re in the water, try to swim in a group and stay away from seals, since sharks feed on seals.

Last year, scientists were able to tag and track several Great Whites all the way to waters off Florida.
