Cannon Launches 'Human Home Run' At Lowell Spinners' Ballpark
LOWELL (CBS) - A human home run was launched at Lowell Spinners' home ballpark on Tuesday night. Say what?
Spinner fans got see a 69-year-old dare-devil blast out of a 35-foot-long cannon and soar over the right field fence into a safety net.
David "Cannonball" Smith was shot over the fence between games of a minor league doubleheader between the Spinners and Connecticut Tigers at Edward A. LeLacheur Park.

He traveled a distance of about 150 feet.
Smith and his son, David "Bullet" Smith Jr., are well-known for their human cannonball stunts.
It was Smith's second-career home run. He also managed to get out of spacious Petco Park at a San Diego Padres game.
