Man Killed In Shooting, Car Fire In Brockton

BROCKTON (CBS) – One man is dead following a shooting and a car fire in Brockton overnight.

According to WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Doug Cope, 24-year-old Valter Monteiro of Brockton, was in a car with another man on West Elm Street around 11:35 p.m. Sunday when shots were fired.

The car went out of control and ultimately ended up in the back yard driveway at a house on West Elm and Revere Streets, where it crashed into an SUV and caught fire.

Monteiro was killed.

The other man, 21-year-old Adilson Tavares is in critical condition.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office has taken over the case.  There have been no arrests.
