Phantom Gourmet Tries Out Wild Horse Cafe In Beverly

BEVERLY (CBS) - Wildly delicious. Wildly affordable.

Brendan Crocker's Wild Horse Cafe in Beverly is the kind of restaurant where you can go for a romantic date night, a fun night of drinking, or a roll-up-your-sleeves and chow down night on the town.

The atmosphere is all about comfort, with plush couches and over-sized chairs.

But, the food is all about flavor. No exotic ingredients or fancy menu descriptions are necessary.

This is grassroots cuisine, cooked perfectly, and served in truly enormous portions. From the famous bar nachos, to pistachio-crusted sea scallops, to the Wild Horse cheese fondue, the menu goes hand-in-hand with the extensive craft beer and cocktail list. plus, it's impossible to miss chef/owner Brendan Crocker in the restaurant's open kitchen. He's the guy with the red beard and tattoos who you can usually spot by the wood-burning oven and grill.

Firing up filet mignon with roasted root vegetables, twelve-ounce burgers topped with bacon and mushrooms, or even a wood-grilled banana with warm homemade caramel. It's the kind of food that just makes you happy, which in turn, makes the chef quite happy as well.

Check out all the food and fun on the Phantom Gourmet Sundays at 10:30 and 11 on TV-38.
